What a rough year for our community.
We mourned the losses at Pulse Nightclub and the Oakland Ghost Ship warehouse.
Those are our fellow dancers.
We mourned the loss of David Bowie, Prince, and David Mancuso, among others.
Those are the people who made us dance together.
We also caught our collective breath when the presidential results came in, if not for us personally, then for those in our community who may be deeply impacted for the next four years.
That’s all of us.
And yet, we keep moving.
Minx has had the pleasure of curating some packed dance floors this year across the country, from Brooklyn to San Francisco, as well as overseas. She’s plays weekly on Deep Space Radio. And last night, she played in Detroit, the city that always hopes for better things, and knows it will arise from the ashes.
So take heart, family. Stay strong and keep moving.
We will get through 2017, and the many years after that, together as a community.
